Day 1: Kotor, Perast

Start and end in Kotor! Check in a 4-star hotel before taking some time to stroll around beautiful Kotor old town with its city walls, which in a safe embrace hold the old town core with all its legends, stories, palaces churches and streets. Hidden beneath the Mountain of Lovćen, in the heart of the breathtaking Boka Bay, this jewel of Adriatic is unmatched in its beauty that is represented through assimilation of different culture influences whose signatures are more than visible even now. Every single piece of this town is hiding story on its own written by Ottomans, Venetians and Christians.

During this day you will also take a boat ride from Kotor harbor to Perast, have lunch in traditional restaurant and visit the church islands. The little baroque town of Perast is situated 20 minutes from Kotor, at the foot of St. Elijah Hill. What makes this place unique are two jewel-like islands – one natural (St. George) and one man-made (Our Lady of the Rocks).

Day 2: Lovćen National Park, Rijeka Crnojevića

We’ll take you to the lofty heights of Lovćen Mountain for breathtaking panoramic views of the Bay of Kotor. On the way we will visit Njeguši village. Njeguši is a settlement in the municipality of Cetinje in Montenegro. The village is located on the slopes of Lovćen Mountain witch by itself is a National park. Njeguši are known as the birthplace of the Petrović dynasty, which ruled Montenegro from 1696 to 1918. The village and its surroundings are famous for its cheese and its prosciutto.

Our next stop is Lovćen mountain. On the top of imposing peak of Lovćen sits the officially highest mausoleum in the world – where the greatest Montenegrin ruler and poet Petar II Petrović Njegoš rests in peace. After climbing 461 steps, we’ll finally get to see the huge statue of the ruler made by world renowned sculptor Ivan Meštrović. As we leave the mausoleum on the opposite side, we’re offered a birds-eye-view of 70% of the entire mountainous and rocky land area of Montenegro.

Next stop is Rijeka Crnojevića (Crnojevića River). As the Crnojevića River contributes directly to Skadar Lake, we’ll get the sense of the similar lush vegetation, water lilies and dynamic bird life as if we were at the lake itself. During the 19th and early 20th century Rijeka Crnojevića was the biggest Montenegrin port and leading shopping centre.

Our next stop is the most famous island Sveti Stefan. The former fishing village situated on a peninsula became an exclusive luxury hotel-town 50 years ago where non guests are not allowed to enter. The island itself is natural, but the town at it was built for the first time in the 15th century to protect Turkish and pirate invaders from conquering. We have just enough time to enjoy the beauty of the island and to caption it on a photo. Then, on our way back to Kotor we will stop in Budva and have a lunch break.
