On this trip you will have a chance to visit Ostrog monastery, the most important pilgrimage site in Montenegro. The tour starts from Kotor. On your way to the monastery, you will have some great photo opportunities above Boka Bay, and near Slano Lake.
High in mountains next to Niksic, you’ll find the Monastery of Ostrog, the biggest Montenegrin pilgrimage site built in 17th-century where you will find the remains of St. Vasilije Ostroški. This sanctuary is one of the most visited orthodox pilgrimage sites in the world. It is a spiritual center of Montenegro and also a place for pilgrims to gather of various faiths and religions of the world.
The Ostrog monastery is not only an Orthodox sanctuary, but it is also visited by followers of all religions throughout the world, who come here to pay homage to the relics of the Saint Vasilije, in search of a cure for their body and soul. After the tomb of Jesus Christ and the Mountain Athos, the monastery of Ostrog is the third most visited shrine in the Christian world.
Before proceeding to Kotor you will have a lunch in one of restaurants near monastery.
